Itineraries

These plans are for real Albany days and Moingup camps — drive time, weather, steps and energy included — not a “do everything” list. Pick the one that matches your group, then open it for a timeline, packing notes and what to skip. Print from any plan page, or grab the free day-trip checklist (PDF) / practical planner anytime.

Every itinerary defers to Explore Parks WA / DBCA for track status and alerts. Hard walks only appear where the plan names them — and only when official status is open. Plans are not walked — planning from official public pages. Vehicle entry is not camping. The Ridge Walk is not a tourist itinerary.

Which plan fits you?

  • Bluff Knoll day — summit if the mountain allows; Drive lookouts as Plan B.
  • Albany day-trip — peak or lookouts, then reverse with daylight. Not Perth.
  • Two-day peaks — Bluff Knoll then a marked western peak or Toolbrunup; not the Ridge Walk.
  • Wildflower weekend — October–December window; Drive plus Trio; stay on tracks.
  • Family lookouts — picnic and Drive; no summit required.

If two plans both “sound good,” pick the shorter one. You can always add something on the ground; you can’t make more daylight on Chester Pass Road.

Bluff Knoll day: summit if the mountain allows

Fit first visit sleeping in Albany or closer — not Perth
